So, in the spirit of a journal every thousand views and referring back to my previous journal, it turns out that I was able to swing a better camera than I had thought I might be able to. I'm sticking with Nikon and have gone with a full frame digital camera, the D750. I guess this falls into the higher end enthusiast/lower end pro category. At 24 megapixels it's able to get great detail but without making it necessary for me to buy a new computer to handle the load. I had had my eye on a 36 megapixel model, but the owner of a nearby camera store, a man who's forgotten more about photography than I will ever know, advised me to go with the lower resolution. It turns out Nikon had a special on that made it possible for me to buy the D750 and a VERY good lens at an excellent price. Any thoughts you have on the D750 and/or making the transition from cropped frame to full frame would be more than welcome.
